Bevin - River Oaks Country Club bridals
Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 5:18PM A few weeks back I got to play with Bevin on a Sunday and take some bridal portraits for her upcoming wedding ( which was this past Saturday- photos from that later). I was not able to show them until now because we wanted to keep her beautiful Monique Lhuillier dress a secret until the big day. Isn't she gorgeous?! We chose River Oaks Country Club as our location because it is so filled with light and I absolutely LOVE the hand painted wall paper.
Bevin was a great subject to have for so many reasons, but the best was that she let me do whatever I wanted and we got to get some great and creative photos for her. Bevin is a photographer as well as the interem directer for the Houston Center for Photography, so I brought along my big ole crown graphic to use as a prop. I also got to use my home made tilt shift lens, which I am so in love with. I think I am going to have to name her soon. I was thinking Georgia or Gertie.....
FYI, I shot these for D. Jones Photography and David and I both shot the wedding!

These are stunning. My favs are the mirror shot and the profile shot on the couch where she is looking into the camera. Beautiful!!! Gorgeous bride and gown too.
Great captures here. My favorite is your bride standing in the window looking out. I love those shots with the soft window light wrapping around your subject.
These are truly stunning, Laura. So beautiful, and that dress is divine!
I love love LOVE the one where she is profile looking into the camera. Stunning.

These are incredible! The one where she's on the couch looking in the camera is my favorite.
Laura - The 7th shot down is the bomb! I LOVE the light in that shot. Great comp, too. Great job on the whole set.
Laura, these shots are gorgeous. The vintage look came off really nicely. You also have some great alternative composition here playing with the wall patterns and the abilities of your homemade lens.
Thanks so much you guys!
I like them too. My favourite is the one on the stairs, when she looks up at you. Beautiful. And the first one too.
Oh wow Laura. The one of her sitting on the couch is unbelievable. Amazing work!
Lovely use of textures! And the tilt/shift action is really cool!
OMG! That one of her on the couch with the 4x5....all I can say is find a print contest and enter!!!! It kicks some serious arse!
These are so beautiful!
Your artistic PP is fantastic, Laura! Love.
Very nice job on the bridal session, looks like you went conservative in making sure that there wouldn't be any issues with her dress. The photographs turn out great, keep up the good work.
Wow, what an amazing location, and the photographs are beautiful!
Great set Laura!! I love your textures!
