The Lamb Awaits

Today Sadie and I went to see Spike Jonze's version of "Where the Wild Things Are." This was my absolutely.favorite.book.ever. when I was a kid.My daughters have always loved it too but I have to say that I was kind of lukewarm about the movie. Don't get me wrong, I thought Max Records portrayal of Max was great and he was just about super adorable, but I just felt so much like it could have some how been more....fantastical maybe? The monsters also seemed a bit neurotic for my taste....I dunno. I guess the book was pretty short and had not much of a plot, so I know Mr. Jonze had to just make it up...but yeah.

Anyways, a photo....

I just found your work via flickr - it is wonderful and awe inspiring!

Anyway, I agree about the movie as well. There was nothing fantastical in the movie that was not tempered by something dreary. So disappointing.
