Pre-teen portrait in black and white

Hard to beleive she is only 12, huh?

This is my beautiful daughter Maddie, talented swimmer, creative writer of words, lovable kid, just being her 12 year old self. Isn't she gorgeous?

Meredith, bridal prep photos on film

So this past weekend I shot a beautiful wedding with David at First Presbyterian Church and the Junior League of Houston. For more photos look here. Anyways, I have been feeling a little nostalgic for film recently, and since I have quite a few different film cameras laying about collecting dust, i thought I would play a little this past weekend. I really only used the film camera while Meredith was getting ready before the ceremony, but next time, who knows, maybe I will take a few more :)

Sadie the Squirt- Houston fine art photographer

Ok, so this is Sadie. She is 7. She likes to play with the waterhose. Nuff said.

My friend, photographer Tammy Price, was kind enough to give me a whole Bronica ETRsi medium format system about a year ago and honestly, this is the first time I have used it for it's intended purpose ( however I did repurpose the lenses to make frankentilt lenses for my Canon systems :) No permanent damage done!)

Lens - Bronica 75mm f2.8

Film - Kodak 400nc

portrait of Nancy on celluloid

Nancy is another local photographer here in houston. We met at a few industry functions around town then got to hang out a few times and got to talking about how we both love film photography. you know, the kind with negatives, that have to be immersed in some kind of chemicals in order to become photos. The grain, the texture, the color, thr gradiations...that subtle analog love that just does not quite  come with digital. So anyway, to celebrate our love for film and to hget some new photos for nancy's new branding makeover, we decided to traipse around my hood, Montrose, and get some cool FILM photos. yummy!

Cameras-

Canon 1V with 50mm f1.2 lens

Contax 645 with 80mm f2.0 lens

Films used and abused were made by Kidak and Ilford.

Enjoy the grainy goodness within!
